QUETTA: A clash between two groups over a land dispute flared up to full-scale violence with at least eight killed in Balochistan’s Chaghi district on Sunday.
According to district administration officials, two armed groups of tribesmen opened fire on each other over a land dispute which claimed at least eight lives, injuring another man. The injured has been taken to a local hospital for medical treatment, officials said.
The identity of deceased and injured couldn’t be ascertained.
Soon after the incident, Levies and FC personnel reached the site and dispersed the members of armed groups. However, the situation in the area remains tense.
Balochistan, a strategically important region bordering Iran as well as Afghanistan, has witnessed terrorists attacks by Sunni Islamist sectarian groups linked to the Taliban, al Qaeda and Islamic State.
