KARACHI: The Anti-Riots Force has been established in Sindh to deal with the riots and unlawful protests and rallies.
According to an official, the force has been established on zonal level and each zone will be headed by a DIG police and the force could be deployed in any emergence situation.
The official said that the Anti-Riots Force comprised of 357 personnel on initial basis and soon it would be extended to 1000.

Additional Inspector General Karachi Dr Amir Sheikh said 150 personnel of the force would be provided with all necessary gadgets of international standard including gas masks.
“None of them would be wielding any fire weapon,” he said adding that initially 100 policemen were posted in headquarters of district west and south each.
The Karachi police chief said they would be brought to any area of the city when needed.
It is pertinent to mention that the rioters from across Pakistan involved in vandalizing and harassing citizens, during their protests against a Supreme Court verdict acquitting Asia Bibi, are being identified and arrested by security forces countrywide.
According to details, police has been registering cases against the culprits.
In Islamabad, 500 people have been booked and 12 have been arrested so far. The order to imprison 19 rioters under the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) has also been issued.
Moreover,170 rioters have been taken into custody from Sheikhupura.
As per police officials, the miscreants were traced through videos shot during the demonstrations.
