LAHORE: The Anti Corruption Department Punjab on Wednesday decided to initiate investigation against Malik Mansha Khokhar alias Mansha Bomb, who is on remand over charges of illegally occupying government’s land in the province.
The decision was taken by the provincial authorities after recovery of fake registration documents, letter heads and stamps of the ministers of previous government.
“Mansha Bomb was involved in occupation over government land by showing fake registries with the help of the concerned department’s officials.” officials privy to the development said.
ATC on Monday had sent ‘Mansha Bomb’ and his son to jail on judicial remand until November 9.
On October 15, Mansha Bomb was arrested from the Supreme Court premises soon after he surfaced there to seek protective bail, however, it was reported that he surrendered himself to the top court
Mansha wanted to meet Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar, however the latter was stated to be busy in a meeting. The suspect was transferred to the Secretariat Police Station.
During the hearing of a case, the Supreme Court was informed that Mansha was a notorious land grabber involved in encroachment of lands in Lahore’s Johar Town.
The police had been making efforts to arrest him, but he had gone into hiding.
A police official told the judges that Mansha and his sons were involved in grabbing lands in Johar Town. Over 70 cases have been registered against the land grabber, he added.
