ACE launches graft probe against former MDA chairman

LAHORE: Anti-corruption Establishment has launched an inquiry in fraud case against Shaikh Jameel, a former chairman of Multan Development Authority (MDA), ARY News reported on Tuesday.

Anti-corruption Establishment (ACE) Punjab has initiated inquiry against Shaikh Jameel, a former MDA chairman during the PTI government.

The anti graft body has summoned Mian Shafeeq and Mian Asif, two brothers of Shaikh Jameel. Director MDA Saqib, sub-registrar Cantt and concerned Revenue department staff has also been summoned along with record.

According to the probe Shaikh Jameel had illegally got approval of the Cantt Avenue Housing Society during the PTI government tenure.

The former chairman MDA sold more files of plots to people than actual number of plots in the scam.

The development work at Cantt Avenue Housing Society yet to be completed since 2010.

The former MDA chairman received several hundred millions of money in collaboration with his brothers, anti-corruption authorities said.
