ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Marriyum Aurangzeb said that Prime Minister’s announcement of 50 per cent reduction in power outages was a step towards a load-shedding free Pakistan.
While visiting local television news channels and media houses on Tuesday, she said taking the country out of the energy crisis was always a part of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) policy.
She stressed that the government was taking every possible step to improve the lives standards of Pakistanis with improved economy and foreign reserves.
The minister also claimed that terror activities in the country declined some 85 per cent during PML-N’s rule, which she said was an achievement.
Commenting on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), the minister said that the project would be a game-changer for Pakistan and the entire region.
Rejecting a widespread criticism that the state institutions were not working the way they must, Aurangzeb said the institutions were actually evolving in the country, a clear success of the democratic political system.
She said, as a new information minister, security and safety of media houses was her top priority and also urged them to follow a self-accountability mechanism.
