Developed by the Whirpool Corporation, it is believed to be the first indoor food recycler in the US that converts a week’s worth of food waste into ready-to-use homemade fertilizer within 24 hours.

The company said that similar products take at least a week to process and the output is not as uniform. There are other products that are purely “food dehydrators” which do not have an additive and cannot progress the food decomposition as far as Zera Food Recycler.
