Zendaya, who was running for the ‘Best Actress in a Drama Series’ at the annual ceremony with the likes of Jodie Comer [Killing Eve], Laura Linney [Ozark], Melanie Lynskey [Yellowjackets], Sandra Oh [Killing Eve], and Reese Witherspoon [The Morning Show], managed to clinch the title to create the history.

Moreover, the promising starlet set the Emmys record to become the youngest ever two-time winner of the coveted trophy.

It is pertinent to mention here that Zendaya came to a tie with 2015 winner Viola Davis, with her first win in 2020, and has now superseded with a second straight win.

“Thank you for making such a safe space to make this very difficult show. I love you all so much,” said Zendaya in her acceptance

speech. “Thank you to the Academy, thank you to my friends and family, some of which are here tonight. Thank you to Sam [Levinson] for sharing Rue with me. Thank you for believing in me, even in moments where I didn’t believe in myself.”

The actor also stated that her ‘greatest wish for Euphoria’ was to help ‘heal people’. “Anyone who has loved a Rue, or feels like a Rue, I want you to know that I’m so grateful for your stories, and I carry them with me, and I carry them with her. So, thank you very much.”

About the show, created by Sam Levinson, ‘Euphoria’ tells the story of students who are struggling with problems such as drugs along with social media, money and love as they try to establish their identities.
