Asif Ali Zardari during his telephonic conversation, said that free and fair elections has also been a demand of PPP, while he supported the stance of chairman PTI on the rigging of polls during last general elections in the country.
Both the leaders exchanged their views on the current situation of the country and possibilities to lessen the political unrest.
Meanwhile, Asif Ali Zardari also connected with the ameer of Jamat e Islami (JI), Siraj ul Haq and discussed with him key political affairs especially the PTI called independence march.
During the conversation, Siraj ul Haq told that JI had already decided not to take part in the PTI-led long march against the government.
Yesterday, the Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan had also made a telephone call to Siraj ul Haq and urged him to play role in preventing the independence march.
On the other hand, a delegation of Pakistan Cable Operators Association headed by Khalid Arain also met Imran Khan on Tuesday and ensured him of their full support regarding the independence march on August 14.
