Yasir Shah ruled out of boot camp with knee injury

Yesterday, Shah complained of pain in his left knee after which he was stopped from performing in the boot camp.

The PCB ordered for an MRI test which revealed an aggravated injury in his left knee, but does not require surgery. The leg spinner will have to undergo intensive rehabilitation for four weeks.

This is a huge setback for the Shah as it virtually rules him out of the upcoming tour of England.  He was provisionally banned in December after testing positive for a banned substance. He had to miss out of the tour of New Zealand, Pakistan Super League (PSL), Asia Cup and World Twenty20.

The Pakistan cricket team is facing several injuries and fitness issues.  Only 30 of the 35 probable players have joined the ongoing boot camp.

The new chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq will be in Kakul next week to oversee the progress and is then expected to announce the final squad. Newly-appointed head coach is also scheduled to arrive next month.
