KARACHI: Pakistans’ leg-spinner Yasir Shah is hopeful to become the fastest to get 200 Test wickets, Yasir recently broke the record of fastest 150 Test wickets, previously held by Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin.
“I try to perform in every match I play for my country and i am very hopeful to become the fastest to get 200 test wickets,” he said while talking to Dawn News.
During Pakistan’s tour of Sri Lanka in 2015, Yasir became the fastest Pakistani bowler to take 50 test wickets and he is also the second fastest to reach 100 Test wickets.
The 31-year-old just need 35 wickets in 7 Test matches to become the fastest to get 200 Test wickets.
Yasir is hopeful to achieve another record, he also added that he is working on his googly and flipper.
Yasir praised young talent said the addition of young blood has increased the competition for a permanent place in the national team. He also praised 19-year-old Shadab Khan for his performance.
Yasir wishes to play against India’s run machine Virat Kohli.
