Women’s World T20: West Indies knock out India in thriller

India won the toss and chose to field in their must win match against the Caribbean nation.

West Indies managed 114/8 in 20 overs with Stefanie Taylor being the top scorer with 47 from 45 balls after hitting five boundaries.

Deandra Dottin scored 45 runs from 40 balls with five fours to her name.

Harmanpreet Kaur grabbed four wickets for India while Anuja Patil dismissed three West Indies batswomen. Ekta Bisht grabbed a wicket as well.

India, chasing 115 runs to win, fell four runs short of victory as they could score 111/9 in their 20 overs.

Anuja Patil was the top scorer for the Indian side as she made 26 runs from 27 balls with a boundary to her name while Jhulan Goswami contributed 25 runs from 19 balls after hitting a four and a six.

Smriti Mandhana scored 22 runs from 27 deliveries with the help of a four and a six.
Deandra Dottin grabbed three wickets while Afy Fletcher took two wickets for West Indies. Shamilia Connell and Shaquana Quintyne grabbed a wicket each as well.
