WhatsApp will stop working on these phones from 2018

As 2018 is approaching near, the major announcements in the area of technology are also expected. The world’s popular messaging app WhatsApp has announced that its application will stop working on some phones by the start of next year.

Like last year, this year too the Facebook-owned instant messaging app is ending updates for a number of older platforms. “Because we will no longer actively develop for these platforms, some features may stop functioning at any time,” said the company on its blog post while announcing end-of-life dates.

This means that users with smartphones running on OSes named by WhatsApp should consider upgrading to new phones to access the instant messaging app properly.

“These platforms don’t offer the kind of capabilities we need to expand our app’s features in the future. If you use one of these affected mobile devices, we recommend upgrading to a newer OS version, or to a newer Android running OS 4.0+, iPhone running iOS 7+, or Windows Phone 8.1+ so that you can continue using WhatsApp,” the company added.
