HAMBURG: A pizza delivery rider is taking over the internet after pictures of him riding through horde of G20 protesters to deliver a pizza.
Footage appears to show the moped rider weaving, unperturbed, through the “Welcome to Hell” protests that saw dozens injured.
“That guy needs a raise,” said one Twitter user after watching the employee, who had also approached the riot police’s defensive line in his determination to make his delivery.
“Not all heroes wear capes. Some wear pizza boxes,” said a viewer on Reddit. A third added: “I’ll be honest, I’d tip more if my pizza came with an elaborate story of the delivery person’s exploits in trying to get it to me in under 30 minutes.”
But one user thought they spotted an ulterior plan, saying: “We’re witnessing the filming of a Pepsi style dominoes commercial.”
Anti-globalisation activists rioted for a second night, setting up street barricades, looting supermarkets and attacking police with slingshots and petrol bombs.
Hundreds of officers went into buildings to arrest rioters while being attacked with iron rods and Molotov cocktails thrown from the roofs. Thirteen activists were arrested when special units stormed one building.
World leaders gathered to tackle issues including terrorism, climate change and trade.
