JOHANNESBURG: South African leg spinner Imran Tahir paid a tribute to Pakistani religious scholar Junaid Jamshed during the second Twenty20 at Johannesburg, ARY News reported on Monday.
Imran Tahir, after dismissing a Sri Lankan batsman, lifted up his team jersey to unveil a shirt worn underneath it which had a picture of the Pakistani religious scholar.
Junaid Jamshed and his wife Nayha along with 41 passengers were killed when a Pakistan International Airlines aircraft crashed near Havelian on 7th December, 2016.
According to reports, Proteas cricketers Imran Tahir and Hashim Amla were close friends with Junaid Jamshed. They came closer to each other when Jamshed used to visit the country a lot.
