The two convicts, identified as Atta Mohammad and Azam, were handed capital punishment by a court for the murder for Dr. Ali Raza. They are expected to be executed on 3rd February.
Atta and Azam were shifted to Karachi Central Jail from Sukkur prison on the request of their families.
It should
be noted that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif lifted the moratorium on death sentences after the attack on Peshawar’s Army Public School in which 150 people including 135 children and nine staff members were killed.Several death row convicts after lifting of the ban have already been sent to the gallows as of yet.
