RAWALPINDI: The 204th Corps Commanders’ Conference was held on Thursday at the General Headquarters (GHQ), the Inter-Services Public Relations said in a statement.

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa chaired the conference at GHQ.

The forum discussed internal and external security situation of the country and progress of Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad, the statement further said.

It was the first meeting of military top brass after US President Donald Trump unveiled his new South Asia policy on August 22.

Pakistan took a strong stance against Trump’s anti-Pakistan policy and the military leadership went into huddle with civilian leadership on the issue.

Earlier while speaking at a ceremony in connection with Defence Day on Wednesday, General Bajwa asked the world to play its due role to eradicate terrorism as Pakistan despite limited resources had achieved a huge success against the menace.

The Army Chief said for the past two decades, Pakistan had been striving hard and making countless sacrifices in the war against terrorism but today it was being accused of not doing enough.

On August 7, COAS Gen Bajwa presided over 203rd Corps Commanders’ Conference and said that efforts must continue in concert with other national institutions to defeat terrorism in order to establish the rule of law and uphold the supremacy of the Constitution.
