When pictures of Tashfeen Malik’s CNIC surfaced online, a raging debate had ensued on social media regarding its authenticity. However, a message to NADRA’s automated SMS-based verification system proved that the Identity Card of Tashfeen Malik was genuine.
The Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) was instantly challenged by Pakistanis, who compared it to regular CNICs and stated that it was a fake one. Most people were of the opinion that it was a fake I.D. card, designed to malign Muslims and Pakistanis. Tashfeen Malik is one of the prime suspects in the San Bernardino shooting that killed as many as 14 people. Tashfeen and her U.S.-born husband Syed Rizwan were both killed in an encounter with police.
This slide bearing CNIC attributed to #TashfeenMalik, as shown by the @CNN so clearly appears to be photoshopped. pic.twitter.com/SYgwxplYbx
