TAUNTON: As a left-arm fast bowler, Mohammad Amir is often compared to Pakistan predecessor Wasim Akram. But having seen Amir close up during Pakistan's opening match of their England tour, Somerset coach Matthew Maynard was struck by a likeness to a fast bowler from an earlier generation than Akram in 1970s West Indies great Andy Roberts.

TAUNTON: It exactly happened as it was expected. Pakistan pace prodigy Muhammad Amir made his mark right from the start in a match against Somerset by removing their opener and seasoned batsman Marcus Trescothik in his third over, before getting a second scalp.

TAUNTON, UK: Younis Khan made an unbeaten 99 while Mohammad Amir was left waiting in the wings as Pakistan launched their tour of England with 324 for five on the opening day of three against Somerset on Sunday.
