Living in the Himalayan mountains and surrounding areas an animal that can run up and down in the steep cliff with ease named Markhor. The word Markhor is believe to come from the Persian word ‘mar’ meaning snake and ‘kor’ meaning ‘eater’ snake eaters are a reference to their ability to kill snakes with their horns which look likes snakes the large hairy mammal lives on steep mountains cliff what makes it very hard to be caught.

The average Markhor is about 5.4 feet in height and 1.6 meters in length and weight up to 240 Pounds. Males are much heavier than females the males have light brown to black color coats where the females have more a reddish color coats the male horns can grow as long as their bodies where the females have small horns measured 10 inches.

In the wild the Markhor can live up to thirteen-year-old, males and females Markhor live apart mostly males mostly lives alone where the females live in small group with their young up to nine years. The males are mostly found in forest during the summer months with the female stick to the high altitude area with steep rocky cliffs.
