Jahangir Tareen

Jahangir Khan Tareen was born on July 4, 1953 in Comilla, East Pakistan which is now Bangladesh. He was elected Member of National Assembly from NA-195. Politically he was affiliated with Pakistan Muslim League. He has also served as Federal Minister of Industries, Production and Special Initiatives.

Mr. Tareen brings with him, rich and varied experiences in the private as well as the public sector. After a teaching stint in the Department of Public Administration, University of the Punjab, Mr. Tareen joined Grindlays Bank, Lahore for a short period of three years.

After leaving the Bank in 1978, Mr. Tareen ventured into Farming at his family farm in Lodhran. He developed and enlarged it by buying a nearby piece of completely barren land which he developed over a period of 20 years.

Mr. Jahangir Khan Tareen is the Founder of the JDW Group. From a humble beginning in 1992-93, when a small sugar mill of 4,000 tons per day was set up in District Rahim Yar Khan, the group has grown to its present size and composition under his guidance and vision. As a Director Mr Tareen continues to lead the group ably supported by a team of dedicated and highly motivated professionals.
