ECL

ECL stands for Exit Control List, it is the Pakistan’s border law to avoid specific person from going outside the country. Exit control list law was created in 1981, who’s ever name present in the list will unable to cross the border of Pakistan from within the country.

The list contains the names of the people involved in corruption, miss use of their powers for doing or helping illegal works within the country. People involved with terrorism are also placed in ECL or anyone who is not able to move without the permission of courts or some other reasons are present in the list.

Names are entered on the basis of mutual consensus of Interior minister, minister of law and justice and minister of finance. Their mutual decision is then further sent to the federal cabinet after being approved by the cabinet names are added to the exit control list.
