ANKARA: Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan wants the armed forces and national intelligence agency brought under the control of the presidency, a parliamentary official said on Thursday, part of a major overhaul of the military after a failed coup.

ISLAMABAD: Finding it hard to ignore Fethullah Gulen’s possible involvement in masterminding botched coup attempt in Turkey last week, Ankara anticipates that Pakistan and other friendly countries would help in restricting the group’s activities within their territories.
