Ban

Ban simply means something which is legally prohibited. It can be applied on anything like government can put bans on some activities, or plastic shopping bags are now banned by the government. Ban is not only implemented by the governments it can be implemented by organizations, courts, law enforcement agencies and governments.

restrictions is also implemented by the world organization on some countries due to some reason is some specific domain. The main reason of applying restriction on something is to prevent public to perform it because it could provide some damage or have negative impact on other person.

Mostly domestic restrictions are announced and implemented by local governments of the nations which are trying to save citizens from big losses and provide them a better place to live in.
