This time, the petitions have been filed by Omni Group head Anwar Majeed and his son AG Majeed, both of him are in custody in the case. In their petitions, submitted on Monday, the Majeeds said the banking court’s verdict should be overruled and the case should continue to be heard in Karachi.
On March 15, former president Asif Ali Zardari and his sister Faryal Talpur also submitted petitions seeking the overruling of the banking court’s decision.
The banking court ruled in NAB’s favour the same day and allowed the fake accounts case to be shifted to Rawalpindi, where it will be heard by an accountability court.
