"Recommendation to a person, who holds authority, over a matter is not misuse of authority. Those who were holding the authority have been given shield under the new NAB ordinance," the justice remarked.
Durrani after a meeting of the joint opposition's Rehbar Committee alleged that cases are lodged against those who speak up openly adding that Ahsan Iqbal was arrested for his outspoken statements.
Durrani appeared before the NAB investigation team to answer questions in three accountability inquiries against him including assets beyond means, fake recruitment and illegal land allotment.
Sources said that NAB investigators have questioned him for the appointment of 70 person belonging to his constituency on fake domicile in the housing ministry.
The IHC judge accepted the pre-arrest bail plea of Durrani till November 4 and sought a reply from the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) by issuing a notice.
He said the convener of the Rehbar Committee will be nominated from each party for a period of two months and he has been unanimously named as the first head of the committee.
