Sardar Akhtar Mengal chairman Balochistan National Party (BNP) born on October 6th 1962 in a political family, Mengal father Ataullah Mengal is the former chief minister of Balochistan. Mengal also started peaceful and democratic struggle for the equal rights for Balochistan.
Akhtar Mengal in his political career also got arrested in 2006 while crackdown was carried around Balochistan as he was planning for a long march against Pervez Musharraf he spends 2 years behind the bars.
Akhtar Mengal got released in 2008 and went into self-imposed exile in Dubai for five years and return Pakistan back in 2013 and Balochistan National Party (Mengal) BNP stood up again in general election 2013 from Balochistan province but only got 2 seats in the 51-member assembly of Balochistan.
