CM Murad says next time PSL matches to be held in other cities also

KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Saturday said in the coming years the Pakistan Super League (PSL) matches would be held in different other cities including in interior Sindh, ARY News reported.

“We have to expand the PSL matches to Multan, Lahore and Rawalpindi as well as different cities of Sindh,” Syed Murad Ali Shah said while talking to media in Karachi.

He was optimistic that international teams would also visit Pakistan and revive cricket in the country. He said he had a meeting with Executive Chairman of Federation of International Cricketers’ Associations (FICA) Tony Irish and the FICA chief was very happy and satisfied upon his visit to Karachi to witness PSL matches.

On March 4, Syed Murad Ali Shah had said he wished that Karachi Kings win the PSL season 4.

However, talking to media he had said, it would be a success of Pakistan no matter what team won.

Murad Ali Shah had said that Karachi would be hosting eight remaining matches of the PSL now.

“Two years back, I asked for one match and this year eight matches are being played here in Karachi,” he had said.

According to the sources, the matches have been shifted to Karachi from Lahore amid current escalation with India.

The Sindh chief minister had said it was welcoming that the PSL matches were being held at the National Stadium Karachi. He said the Sindh government would fully try to make the event successful.
