HYDERABAD: The city was saved from a major terrorist incident when a suicide bomber was shot dead while attempting to enter an imambargah, ARY News reported.
The incident took place in the Latifabad area, where two suicide attacker attempted to enter an imambargah located near Imani Shah graveyard.
Law-enforcement agencies acted promptly, and shot and killed one of the attacker, while his accomplice managed to escape.
The bomb disposal squad have neutralised the suicide vest of the attacker. A BDS official said that the suicide vest contained seven kilograms of explosive material.
The ages of the suicide bombers are said to be between 20-25 years. A Rangers official said that they were attempting to enter the imambargah during Friday prayers.
