NOWSHERA: A suicide bomber riding a motorbike struck the Frontier Corps vehicle near the Kutchehry Chowk, killing at least one person and wounding eleven others including five civilians.
KP Minister Shaukat Yousafzai said initial report confirmed that the bomber used around five kilograms of explosives in the targeted attack. The FC vehicle was travelling from Rawalpindi to Peshawar at the time of the attack.
The minister while speaking to ARY News said six injured personnel were moved to Combined Military Hospital where four othem are in critical condition.
The police have cordoned off the area and begun searching. Eye-witnesses initially claimed that the blast occurred in a vehicle however law enforcers didnt corroborate the claim.
The area where the blast took place is said to be very busy point where several fruit and vegetable vendors run their business. Rescue teams reached the spot, while it is reported that one of the vehicles were completely written-off.
On May 11, a bomb blast ripped through a bus terminal in Kohat, killing one policeman and wounding 13. The bomb device, apparently rigged to a motorcycle, exploded when a police patrol passed by the bus terminal in Kohat.
Pakistan has launched several military operations there, disrupting the militants’ infrastructure and networks and substantially reducing violence, although the militants remain potent enough to launch attacks.
