Sugarcane cultivators’ led by Malik Zafar Iqbal Khokhar, Mahar Bashir and Rana Shaukat Mehmood, blocked Lahore road for traffic.
The cultivators complained that the sugar mills management was buying the crop on Rs. 155 per maund instead of the Rs. 180 as fixed by the government.
The farmers warned to expand the protest if the government fails to implement its decision with regard to the price of sugarcane.
