South Africa has the most balanced team for World Cup

“I want to see Pakistan on podium and if they win then certainly it will be a time for the whole nation to cherish those moments as we did it in 1992,” Sallu told arysports.tv.

However, Sallu said that systematically going through the strengths and weaknesses of all the teams, South Africa tops the chart as they excel in all the three – namely, batting, bowling and fielding departments of the game.

“I think South Africa has a great outfit, considering its strong batting and effective fast bowling. They can accumulate runs having players like Hashim Amla, Quinton De Kock and AB de Villiers in its fold. While, Dale Steyn and Morne Morkel lead a dangerous bowling attack,” he said.

He added that South African bowlers are well supported by their impressive fielding. “Their bowling is supplemented by their impressive fielding.”

Protease captain AB de Villiers is the top ranked ICC batsman with Hashim Amla and Quinton De Kock following him at No 3 and No 7 respectively. Their pacer Dale Steyn is World No 3 bowler while Morne Morkel is placed at 11th spot.

“People may call South Africa as chokers since they have been unable to pull knockout triumphs in World Cup but when analyzing teams technically, such notions count for nothing,” he stressed.

Meanwhile, Sallu, who was also a test cricketer, added that the second team behind South Africa during the tournament will be defending champions India, with its ever prolific batsmen.

“India always have had the services of prolific batsmen and now it has good bowlers in its fold as well. They will be another dangerous side during the tournament,” he added.

India also have three batsmen in top ten list with Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan and captain MS Dhoni at No 2, No 5 and No 8 respectively. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Ravindra Jadeja are its top bowlers at No 8 and No 9 respectively.
