Six security personnel martyred, four terrorists killed in Turbat: ISPR

RAWALPINDI: Six security personnel embraced martyrdom as terrorists target their vehicle through IED in Buleda, an area of Turbat, Balochistan, said Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Friday.

As per press release issued by Army’s public relations wing, ISPR, the incident took place in Balochistan’s area of Buleda, resulting in martyrdom of six security personnel, during an intelligence based operation (IBO) conducted on a terrorists’ hideout.

“Terrorists targeted one of the vehicles of security forces through IED, which resulted in martyrdom of six security personnel, while four terrorists were killed in exchange of with the security personnel.

Earlier in the month of September, four terrorists were killed and two soldiers martyred during an intelligence-based operation conducted by security forces against a group of terrorists hiding in Manghochar area of Kalat, according to  Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Two suicide jackets, large quantity of explosives and weapons and ammunition were also recovered.

The IBO was carried out as part of the ongoing Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad.

In February 2017, Pakistan Army had launched a counter-terror operation named ‘Radd-ul-Fasaad’ across the country and hundreds of militants have surrendered and several were killed after the operation was initiated.

The operation was aimed at indiscriminately eliminating residual and latent threat of terrorism, consolidating gains of operations made thus far and further ensuring security of the borders.

The military had said “the country wide de-weaponisation and explosive control were additional cardinals of the effort. The statement also highlighted that pursuance of the National Action Plan, which was formulated after Peshawar school attack in 2014, will be the hallmark of Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad.
