KARACHI: Sindh government will send a letter to the Election Commission of Pakistan on Tuesday (today) with suggestion of holding local bodies polls in the province in March next year, ARY News reports.
The election commission insists holding the local councils elections in Pakistan’s southern province on January 18, as per the revised schedule.
The election commission has issued the schedule of local bodies elections in Punjab. Polling for the election in the province will be held on January 30th.
The ECP, however, put off issuing the schedule for Sindh till December 13th.
Secretary ECP Ishtiak Ahmed in a media briefing yesterday said that Sindh had been given the last chance to meet the requirements by Dec 12 and the poll schedule would be announced on Dec 13.
The ECP in complaiance to the Supreme Court directives would announce the schedule for Sindh elections on Dec 13, he said.
