Sindh’s nursing staff continues protest in favour of their demands

KARACHI: Nursing Staff on Monday is protesting in favour of their demands outside the Karachi Press Club (KPC), ARY News reported.

As per details, the police started arresting the protesting nursing staff as soon they started to march towards CM House and managed to stop them from entering into the red zone.

The nurses are continuing their boycott of emergency departments, intensive care units (ICU), pediatric intensive care units (PICU), cardiac intensive care units (CICU), labour rooms and operation theaters and wards in all government hospitals of the province to raise their demand for approval of health professional allowance and promotion of nurses under four-tier formula.

Reacting on the protest, the secretary health said there was no reason for the protest as the government is mulling over the demands of the nursing staff.

Secretary health also apprised Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah about the demands and current position of the protest.

Sources within the health department told ARY News that it was made crystal clear that notification of acceptance of demands of the nursing staff will not be issued as the protest continues.

Meanwhile, the Sindh chief minister has advised the authorities concerned for the peaceful solution of the matter.

On the other hand, due to protest massive traffic jam is being witnessed at the main road artilleries of the city including, Saddar, Shahra-e-Faisal, Lines Area and others.
