Shraddha Kapoor’s Diwali message wins hearts

The Hindu community is celebrating Diwali — the Festival of Lights — today across the globe with traditional zeal.

The Hindu community  traditionally buys fire crackers to celebrate this occasion along with lighting lamps. Bursting crackers sometimes ends up in serious injuries plus it also spreads pollution.

So, the young and beautiful Indian actress Shraddha Kapoor took the responsibility to spread awareness among people in this regard and requested them to abstain from bursting crackers.

“It’s the Festival of Lights..not of noise and air pollution. PLEASE, help keep the air clean and be sensitive to the animals on the streets,” she said in a video posted  on her social media account.

“Please don’t buy fire crackers

and don’t burst crackers because not only does it causes a lot of pollution but it also troubles animals on streets. So, instead spend Diwali with your family and loved ones and eat amazing food, eat sweets, but don’t burst crackers.”

She also wrote: “Wishing you all endless laughter, happiness, peace, prosperity and all things awesome. Happy Diwali!”

Around 50,000 tons of firecrackers are burst during Diwali. A toxic haze blanketed Delhi for several days last year due to the large number of firecrackers which alarmed public health concern. Therefore, the Supreme Court of India has banned sale of fireworks until November 01 this year.

A 2015 study found that half of Delhi’s 4.4 million schoolchildren have diminished lung capacity.
