It seems like Aamir Khan has landed himself in trouble by opining on an issue that genuinely concerns him. After Bollywood stars Rishi Kapoor, Raveena Tandon, Anupam Kher and Ram Gopal Varma slammed Aamir for telling the world that his wife suggested they move out of the country owing to rising intolerance, Hindu right-wing parties Shiv Sena and BJP also lashed out at the actor.

Yesterday, a Shiv Sena minister called Aamir, Shah Rukh Khan and Dilip Kumar ‘snakes’. Now, Shiv Sena went further ahead and announced a reward of Rs 100,000 to anyone who would slap the Pk star. The announcement was made by Shiv Sena Punjab chairman Rajeev Tandon on Wednesday, outside the MBD Radisson Blu in Ludhiana where Aamir Khan is staying.

“We give an opportunity to the manager and employees of the hotel and also the team of his film to slap Aamir and get Rs 1 lakh from us. The courageous and patriotic persons who will slap Aamir Khan in Ludhiana will get Rs 1 lakh reward per slap from us,” said Rajeev Tandon. The Shiv Sena protesters outside were angry and also used derogatory language against the actor. They also burned photographs of Aamir Khan.

The hotel staff was placed on alert and they were told to constantly watch for any suspicious person entering the hotel or approaching Aamir’s room.

Manav Inder Singh Guram, manager, marketing and communications, MBD Group, told an Indian website, “We have complete coordination with the police and they are being updated on the situation. The hotel employees have also been told to remain extra vigilant to avoid any suspicious person reaching near Aamir’s room. The actor was not in the hotel when the protest took place. The number of police personnel at the hotel have been increased from four to eight.”

Aamir Khan had stated yesterday that he stood by what he had said and did not regret anything.
