RAWALPINDI: Seeking beefing up of security in the country, Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rasheed on Monday said the next ten days were monumental for the nation as foreign powers were conspiring to delay the general elections, ARY News reported.
“Those who foresee defeat in elections are crying foul of rigging for they want to make the polls controversial beforehand and some political parties are uniting for this evil cause,” he said while talking to media during his visit to Sabzi Mandi and Raja Bazaar in Rawalpindi.
He said the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) was witnessing downfall in their popularity, while the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) was also not getting the desired support in the largest province of Pakistan, Punjab.

The AML chief also said the next government will face enormous difficulties and we should be cognizant of this fact.
Prognosticating about his potential success, he said ‘pen and inkpot’ (his election symbol) was popular in NA 61 and NA 62 constituencies.
Sheikh Rasheed said he had readied his special bike for electioneering and his election campaign will conclude on 23rd at Commercial Market, two days before the elections.
He also said he had got no objection certificate for holding public rally on July 22 at Liaquat Bagh and Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan will arrive at 11 at “the historic rally”.
“The real contest in the general elections is between the PML-N and PTI,” he said.
