Sheikh Rasheed says Pakistan heading towards default

RAWALPINDI: Former interior minister and Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad on Sunday warned Pakistan is close to default.

In his Tweet, Sheikh Rasheed said Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has failed in getting any relief from international donors during his recent US visit.

Sheikh Rashid underscored that the country is close to defaulting.

“The country’s assets are more precious to us than our lives,” he added.

Sheikh Rasheed held the coalition government responsible for pushing the country into deep economic crises.

Earlier, he criticized former president Asif Zardari and former PM Nawaz Sharif saying that Zardari is a threat to the constitution and unity of the country. He said they are working on a foreign agenda and named Nawaz Sharif as an equal participant in this conspiracy.
