ISLAMABAD: As the inquiry report of the Model Town incident was made public, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Naeem-ul-Haq on Tuesday said that there is no doubt that Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Law Minister Rana Sanaullah were responsible for the incident.
“There is no doubt … After reading the report it can be concluded that the main responsibility falls on Shehbaz Sharif and Rana Sanaullah,” he said while appearing on ARY News program ‘Powerplay’.
He said that the report was being deliberately delayed since the last three years just to conceal the facts and the responsibility from them which is now shown in the report.
He further said that there are very few incidents such as the Model Town incident, in which thirteen people are shot dead and injured by the police.
Therefore, he said that both Shehbaz Sharif and Rana Sanaullah should immediately resign for their role in the incident and that the Supreme Court should take notice if they do not relinquish their posts.
He said that there is no parallel incident in the history of the country, and previously such reports used to be suppressed. He said that a case should be filed against all those responsible for the incident, and the perpetrators should be given an exemplary punishment.
