Sharjeel Memon making fuss to hide embezzlement, says Marriyum Aurangzeb

ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb on Sunday said Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Sharjeel Memon was making a fuss to conceal his corruption, but such tactic would not help him and he would be held accountable for embezzlement, ARY News reported.

“The government is working to eliminate corruption from the country according to the vision of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif,” she said in a statement adding that the PPP leader should first give account of fraudulent appropriation of funds he personally made then level allegations against others.

The state minister said that opponents should return the looted money to the national exchequer instead of leveling baseless allegation on the government.

She said that Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan as interior minister was committed to defeat the terrorism in the country.

Earlier in a press conference today, Memon lashed out at Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and called for his resignation.

He called Nisar ‘a master of U-turn’s and said he only knew ways to threaten the opposition.

the PPP leader said that the interior minister had lost all moral authority after the Quetta Commission report which showed his ‘performance’ and should have resigned on ethical grounds.

He continued the diatribe and questioned why Nisar had not placed the name of prime minister Nawaz Sharif on the Exit Control List over the Panama Papers leaks.

“Why didn’t he put the names of the prime minister and his family members on exit control list,” he asked.
