Shahid Afridi to be given farewell in World XI match today

LAHORE: ARY News has discovered what surprise Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Najam Sethi has up his sleeves which the cricket fans are going to get in the first Twenty20 International against World XI today in Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.

ARY News sports correspondent Shahid Hashmi reported that ex-skipper Shahid Khan Afridi will be given a farewell reception. Sources said the former all-rounder will also be travelled in a rickshaw in the ground.

Afridi once pressingly demanded farewell saying that it was right of every senior player but the national cricket board showed no keen interest in it, then lately after retirement of Misbah-ul-Haq and Younis Khan, the board extended an offer to give Afridi farewell along them which he gently turned down saying that he was no more in need of it.

Now, it seems that the PCB and Shahid Afridi have come to terms over the matter of farewell and the cricket fans are going to see the surprise moments of his farewell.

Shahid Afirdi remained a prolific allrounder for Pakistan in his two-decade long career. He played an integral role in making Pakistan World T20 Champions in 2009, where he got Man of the Match in semi-final and final.
