LAHORE: Former cricketer Shahid Afridi has finally received a send off by the Pakistan Cricket Board for his contribution to cricket.
The cricketer was given a grand honour during the final of the Independence Cup at the Gaddafi Stadium being played between Pakistan and the World XI team.
Former captain Misbah-ul-Haq was also giving a farewell reception. Both cricketers were given a lap of honour individually in a decorative auto-rickshaw.

Afridi had on Thursday not attended the annual awards function hosted by the PCB. This has irked several players who criticised the PCB’s way of handling things.
It is later known that Afridi had agreed to do a lap of honour rather than receive an award or reception by the PCB. Younis Khan did not attend the event as well.
