After getting information about presence of terrorists in the area, police launched search operation in Madani Colony of Sohrab Goth, where unidentified terrorists opened fire at police party.
According to police sources, seven suspected terrorists were killed in encounter including Pervez alias Paroo who said to be a member of al-Qaida network.
The emir of TTP Bannu and al-Qaida operative Irshad alias Niaz escaped from the area, sources said. Police has released two photographs of the fleeing accused.
Moreover, unknown gunmen shot dead a policeman, Sharif, in North Karachi.
In another firing incident in Orangi an ambulance driver was killed, police sources said.
