Seven militants killed in Tirah Valley air strikes

According to details, security forces fighter jets pounded at militants positions in remote Tirah Valley in Khyber tribal district killing at least seven terrorists and leaving 15 others injured.

Seven hideouts of the militants were also destroyed in air strikes, security sources said.

Operation Zarb-e-Azb

Pakistan Army launched operation Zarb-e-Azb in July 2014 in the North Waziristan agency after a bloody raid on Karachi Airport ended faltering peace talks between the government and militants.

North Waziristan is a major base for the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), which began its campaign against the state in 2007 and also provides shelter to a number of foreign militant groups.

According to the stats revealed by Pakistan Army more than a thousand militants have been killed and 86 soldiers are martyred since the start of the military offensive.
