According to details, for the first time in the history of KP 37 women from regular police were selected, on directives of IG Police Nasir Khan Durrani, who completed ‘Special Services Group-like training’ in seven months.
The female commandos belong to different districts of the province including Swat, Mardan, Swabi, Lakki Marwat, Nowshera and Peshawar.
During training, the women commandos learned para-trooping, shooting, repelling, operating mortar guns and participation in direct operations at terrorists hideouts.
While talking to ARY, Commando Safya said she had been inducted in the commandos batch after completing the best training in the world against terrorism and she was now ready to fight at every fronts across the country.
Higher officials of police said services of women commandos had been availed in over 20 major targeted operations. They had assisted search operations in several sensitive areas.

According to South Asia Terrorism Portal (SATP) website six suicide attacks were carried out in KP during 2015 leaving 63 killed and 113 injured. While, during the following year two suicide bomb blasts have taken place — one on Feb 7 and another on Apr 19 — leaving 20 killed and 41 injured.
