A two-member bench headed by Justice Jawwad S Khawaja conducted the hearing of Baloch missing persons case on Monday.
During which the chairman of Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP), Nasrullah Baloch stated before the court that the mutilated bodies found in Balochistan were buried immediately, while these bodies should be kept at morgue for at least a month for identification’s sake.
At this, the court ordered the government to submit its statement regarding the interring of mutilated bodies.
The court also ordered the Balochistan government to present a report on the procedure of handing such bodies to their heirs, within ten days.
Advocate generals of all the four provinces were also asked to appear in next hearing and submit a report about the statistics of missing persons.
During the hearing, Justice Khawaja remarked that according to a report, highest number of missing persons belongs to Punjab.
He asked the government to take measures for resolving the issue and the concerned authorities to collect further evidences in this regard.
Moreover, the hearing was adjourned for two weeks.
