Sania Mirza performs Umrah with son, family

Former Indian tennis star and wife of cricketer Shoaib Malik, Sania Mirza visited Medina ahead of the holy month of Ramadan.

After retiring from tennis earlier this month, days before the month of Ramadan starts later this week, Sania performed Umrah along with her family as well as her son Izhaan Mirza Malik.

The sportsperson shared several pictures from their trip on the photo and video sharing application in the late hours of Tuesday. With the location tag of Medina, Saudi Arabia, Mirza wrote “Allhamdulillah,” along with the praying hands emoji in the caption of the eight-picture gallery on the gram.

“May Allah accept our prayers,” she added.

Several of her close friends and sports fraternity extended their warm wishes to the celebrity and requested for prayers.

Moreover, her sister Anam, who also accompanied the family with her husband Asaduddin and daughter Dua, posted a few pictures on her handle. “There is indescribable peace & joy here! So grateful to be here. Alhamdulillah x 100,” she captioned the Insta post.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Indian tennis great bid adieu to the sport earlier this month, playing her final match at Lal Bahadur Stadium in Hyderabad, India, where she had kickstarted her career as well.

Later in the day, Mirza officially said farewell to the game after decades of a glorious career, in a glitzy bash.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Mirza has already taken on the next role after retiring from Tennis.
