Salman Khan kickstarts a grassroots football movement

Bollywood star Dabang Khan aka Salman Khan came out to support  an Indian grassroots football movement.

The ISL grassroots football movement was launched in The Dhirubhai Ambani School in Mumbai by the founder and chairperson of Football Sports Development Limited (FSDL) Nita Ambani along with the superstar and heartthrob of bollywood Salman Khan.

This programme is launched for the development of the grassroots football activity in India. The programme will find the young talent in India for the first few years and later they will polish and prepare their young talent to perform in

global football arena. Initially it will reach out to find young talent from schools, maiden initiatives from the start of 2015. The programmes will focus on introduction of kids to football, training and talent-scouting through a series of selection modules.

While talking to the media on the launch event Salman said, “Football grassroots programme is an important step for the development of the beautiful game,” “I am happy to be part of the  grassroots programme and Mrs. Ambani’s vision to develop India as a footballing nation. This programme will shape the next generation of Indian footballers,”.
