WASHINGTON: Founder of ‘American Muslims for Trump’ and a prominent Pakistani supporter for US President-elect Donald Trump, Sajid Tarar recited complete Surah Fatiha at Trump’s Presidential Inaugural Prayer Service on Saturday.
Pakistani-origin American Tarar took the stage and recited the Surah in Arabic which was calmly listened by the attendees including Trump and his wife Melania.
Presidential inaugural prayer service was held at Washington National Cathedral a day after Trump took oath as the 45th president of the United States.
People from different religions offered prayers during the interfaith event.
The US president, vice president and a large number of other dignitaries were also present at the Cathedral event for an interfaith service of prayer. Music and scripture readings, designed to reflect the diversity of the nation, was to remind the president that he is called to lead all Americans, not just a narrow few.
The complete prayer event could be seen here: (Tarar and another Muslim’s prayers can be watched between 2:29:30 to 2:32:30)
Another Muslim also, whose name could not be known, recited few Ayahs from the Holy Quran.
Despite all the ruckus around the globe calling the new US president a racist, Tarar is optimistic that Trump is not against Islam, but he is against terrorism.
“I will pray (to God) to keep us on straight path for stronger America, for safer America and the success of Donald Trump for four years or maybe for eight years,” he had said a day before the prayer event.

Sajid Tarar said his prayer was a denial of all the rumours disseminated by the liberal media against Trump. He said earlier he had also called prayer at Republican National Convention.
“It will be a new America from tomorrow morning, a stronger America, a safer America. God bless America the beautiful,” Tarar, who is also an advisor for ‘National Diversity Coalition For Trump’, wrote on his social media account.
