SAHIWAL: Six accused of Sahiwal tragedy produced before an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) under stringent security measures on Wednesday (today) after 19 days of the incident, ARY News reported.
ATC Judge Malik Shabbir Awan granted 15 days’ physical remand of the accused to police.
The accused were handed over to police and the Joint Investigation Team for further investigation and questioning.
It is to mention here that ATC Judge Malik Shabbir Awan had summoned the SHO Yousufwala police station, who is also a member of the JIT, and ordered him to produce the accused before the court.
After the order of the court, the JIT held a meeting at the police rest house here and produced the arrested accused under tight security, from Central Jail Sahiwal before the anti-terrorism court.
The court earlier granted five days’ physical remand of the accused, which was later enhanced to 15 days on the request of the JIT investigators.
The police officers in a press conference in Lahore on Monday said that the Joint Investigation Team can’t give definite time period to conclude its findings.
